The Simple Answer, No

You have 2 different options when hiring a Go Rentals vehicle;

Renting with Customers Own Insurance (COI)

Transfer of your own full comprehensive insurance cover and a verification email to be emailed in by your broker/insurance company. You will need to contact your insurance company or broker prior to rent, to ensure that an insurance transfer can occur on to a commercial vehicle. See our insurance notes on the RENT page of our website for further information. You will need to confirm the following:

  • Insurance company contact details
  • Policy Number
  • Policy is fully comprehensive
  • The name of the renter and any other driver is named specifically that they are covered
  • The specific vehicle details, registration, make, model, value
  • Time and date of start of cover
  • Time and date of end of cover

Renting with Self Drive Hire Insurance (SDH):

We have partnered up with Practical Car and Van Rental to be able to supply our vehicles with insurance. Certain criteria and terms and conditions must be met. Vehicle and passenger is covered. Driver is not covered. Check with our on duty rentals agent regards availability

  • A Full Class B Driver’s License. We do NOT accept provisional licenses or any license with endorsements.
  • Renter must be between the age of 25-70 years of age
  • 2 Proofs of Address must be provided so we can underwrite the insurance. Without these, rental cannot take place.
  • No Previous Convictions, Accidents, Refusal of Insurance or Physical Defects.

With our Insurance, you will be subject to a €500 Excess, which will be taken as a deposit on the collection of the vehicle. You can choose to lower your liability and deposit to only €250 by taking out our Excess Reducer, which will be an additional €8/day

Yes. All of our vehicles can be driven on the standard class B driver’s license, but we do NOT accept provisional licenses or any license with endorsements.

For rentals with Customers Own Insurance (COI), we have no age restrictions, as long as the renter has held their full license for at least 2 years prior to the date of rental and there is a transfer of fully comprehensive insurance . There is no upper age limit.

OR

For rentals with our Self-Drive Hire Insurance (SDH), as per our Insurance Underwriter conditions we are obliged to ensure age restrictions between, 25-70 years of age for the purchase of this policy, as long as the renter has held their full license for at least 2 years prior to the date of rental.

No. All of our vehicles can be driven on a class B driver’s license. We do NOT accept provisional licenses or any license with endorsements.

No. We only accept the transfer of a fully comprehensive policy.

OR

You can drive on our own self-drive hire insurance policy at very competitive rates. Certain criteria and terms and conditions must be met. Vehicle and passenger is covered. Driver is not covered. Check with our on duty rentals agent regards availability.

Yes, on condition that you remain covered under this Full Comprehensive Insurance Policy during the duration of the rental, we require to have this verified in writing by insurance company/broker.

Yes – A valid Debit OR Credit card, in your own name. If not in your name, a friend/family members will suffice but he/she will need to be present at the time of rental with photo identification, and will need to sign a “Card Payment Authorisation Form”. We are required to debit a deposit off the card which will be fully refunded after the return of the rental vehicle, once there are no subsequent charges, including but not limited to e.g. valeting, fuel, excess mileage, fines, e-flow, parking, damage etc. Cards must remain valid with funds available and in date for duration of the rental term.

Speeding, parking fines, toll charges and any other endorsements are the responsibility of the renter in full. The renter is obliged to inform go rentals of any fines or parking tickets issued whilst the renter is using the vehicle. Note any and all potential charges, including but not limited to tolls, fines, motoring offence charges, or charges subsequent to return of vehicle may be charged directly to the debit/credit card of which was supplied at the time of vehicle collection.

Payment of tolls must be made by 8pm on the day following your journey, via one of the methods below:

    • Online at www.eflow.ie
    • By phone on LoCall number 1890 50 10 50 (from Republic of Ireland) or 08453015405 (from Northern Ireland)
    • In person using the Payzone branded outlets nationwide that display the eFlow logo

Any penalties incurred for non-payment of the toll will be automatically charged to your credit/debit card used for the rental, along with our current standard administration fee of the Toll & an admin fee of €5.00 + VAT per penalty.

Yes. We have 24/7/365 secure monitoring throughout our premises.

Primarily, only our long-term lease vehicles (1 year or more) are available with tow-bars, if requested.

We do have a limited number of vehicles available for short-term rent (up to 28 days) with Tow Bars, but you would need to specify this requirement in advance, and this would be subject to availability.

We offer a grace period of 1 hour, but this does not extend beyond our opening hours, and additional charges will incur once the rental extends beyond this period. It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle remains insured at all times.

Of course, we will permit baby seats in all of our cars, but it will be up to the renter/driver, to ensure that the baby seat is supplied (we don’t supply these) and installed securely and in the correct and safe position. We cannot guarantee a vehicle with Isofix, although we would always try our best to provide one

We do not allow baby seats to be fitted into our vans. Albeit in the unlikely event of an accident, the reason for this policy is safety, as passenger side airbags could be extremely dangerous to an infant in a baby/child seat directly in the vicinity of an activated air-bag. Also, please note that some manufacturers do not supply commercial vehicles with a passenger side air-bag as standard.

Each rental vehicle is provided with a policy booklet, which details the contact details of the breakdown assistance operator that will instantly recover the vehicle. We at go rentals will immediately act to get a similar vehicle to your location and assist with the transfer of goods/luggage as necessary.

If you still feel you have been unjustly handled due to the mechanical fault of the vehicle, and you request a refund, we will stand over our guarantee and provide a refund, up to a maximum of one month’s rental, depending on the duration of the original rental booking.

There is a company policy in place whereby:

The renter must notify an agent of Go Rentals immediately, 1890909000 or info@GoRentals.ie or 087-9677301. The vehicle will be assessed immediately on return. The damage will be photographed and an estimate of repair can be available immediately if there is light damage. Or if there is severe damage there could be a delay due to pricing of parts, but a printed estimate will be available within 24hours of the next business day. The damage repair cost is the renters responsibility and the liability is yours alone to pay but if you would like to process payment through your insurance company we can facilitate and assist. A claim will need to be registered with the insurance company, a claim number sought, and you will need to ensure your insurance companies’ assessor swiftly calls to site to view the vehicle. You will need to do this as it is your policy! Parts (if required) will have already been ordered as we will need to get the vehicle back on the road at the earliest convenience, and once figures are agreed with insurance assessor, the repair will be carried out and the insurance company will be invoiced. The renter will be liable to GoRentals for the excess on your policy, which we suggest you determine immediately once you open the claim with your insurance company, this should also be stated on your original insurance policy document. If there are any delays in the insurance process claim then we will revert back to the renter for payment in full, and the renter may be liable for down-time of the vehicle also if the delays are excessive due to lack of effort on the part of the renter.

GoRentals reserves the right to charge the renter for all expenses incurred on callouts relating to incidents other than mechanical failure. These might include:

  • Incorrect fuel put in vehicle
  • Towing, recovery and storage of vehicle
  • Damage caused to any part of the vehicle which has caused the vehicle to break-down
  • Keys lost or locked inside vehicle
  • Off-road/in-ditch/non-standard recovery which takes excessive time to carry out
  • Punctures or wheel change

Only in certain circumstances, this is depending on the duration of the rental. This can be negotiated with the go rentals agent prior to booking.  On long term lease vehicles (1 year or more) we would encourage your own branding. Renter/driver is responsible for providing and removing of this once rental/lease has finished.

Go Rentals may be able to assist with this, but this is different in each situation. Contact us prior to confirm

Yes, but depending on the time and date of return. This can be arranged with the go rentals agent at least 24 hours prior to booking or with at least 24 hours notice of hire completion.

Go Rentals work on a simple Like for Like Policy. We aim to provide all of our vehicles Full of Fuel at time of collection, but this may not always be feasible. We will provide you the vehicle with a minimum of 1/8 tank of fuel, we simply ask that the vehicle be returned with the same quantity.

Should the vehicle be returned with less fuel than when taken, you will be charged at our current fuel rates which will be very similar to local pump prices, along with a “Re-fill fee”.

go rentals offer all it’s short-term customers (under 28days) unlimited mileage on all rentals up to a maximum of 28 days rental. This is standard across all our vehicles. Any lease customers will have a tailored lease package which will include a specific quantity of monthly mileage included for the term of the lease.

The Simple Answer is Yes.

You can take any of our vehicles abroad, both when renting with Customers Own Insurance (COI) or with our Self-Drive hire Insurance (SDH). But please note when travelling abroad, renter must ensure successful repatriation back to our base in Kildare so we require that all renters purchase either of the following prior to rental:

a) An AA European 5 star policy which also covers accidents, breakdowns and recovery.

More information can be found here http://www.theaa.ie/AA/Insurance/European-Breakdown-Cover/5-Star-Areas-of-Cover.aspx

Yes, you can drive on our own Self-Drive Hire Insurance Policy (SDH) at very competitive rates. Certain criteria and terms and conditions must be met. Vehicle and passenger is covered. Driver is not covered. Check with our on duty rentals agent regards availability.

Yes, we can facilitate this requirement, but this may be chargeable, depends on availability, and must be arranged and confirmed with ago rentals agent at least 24 hours prior to booking or with at least 24 hours notice of hire completion.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please note, that at all times, final consideration in all matters rests with the rental agents as to whether the rental will proceed or not.
